26/02/2003 - 16:55 (21:55 GMT)
24/02/2003 For dinner, we went out to TGI Fridays and our waitress sounded like Minnie Mouse! Maybe a bit harsh, but fair. Anyway, she was a very good waitress and I enjoyed my meal. When we got back to the hotel, we met some salesman, 2 Americans and 1 Danish guy. They were quite funny had come down for some training thingy.
25/02/2003 In the morning, we went to a place called
Salem. It's where lots of "witches" were tried and hung in 1692. By lots they mean about 20 in total, whereas we burnt 1000s per day in Europe. Alledgedly. We went to a museum, which was quite good, then for lunch. It was absolutely freezing, because the wind was so strong and Salem's right on the Atlantic Coast too. So it was bitterly cold! After lunch and a look in an Indian Spice shop (mimicking the shops they used to have when Salem was a massive trading port), we went back to the hotel and got ready to go to wrestling school.
Killer Kowalskis opens at 16:00, but
Slyk Wagner Brown (the head trainer), doesn't get there until 17:00 because he works. This pissed off Mam and Dad, but I didn't mind. I didn't take part, because I needed to see
Killer Kowalskis and sort out the money. He was doing a chat show on TV, so he wasn't there. Once it started, it was really good. They started with a warm-up, exiting the ring over the 2nd rope, backwards over the 2nd rope, over the top rope and then being clotheslined over the top rope. The they did a sequence thing, where they'd have to jump over the top rope into the ring, do 2 forward rolls over to the other corner, jump over the top rope onto the outside, jump back in, backward roll, somersault onto your back, and then just fall onto your back. From what I gathered, they'd do this as a set warm up. Next, they paired up and did some grapple moves, like sidewalk slams (if you work at the Pizza Hut and don't know what that is, ask Darren - If you dare - lol!). It was really cool.
Slyk's a really good wrestler, really quick and powerful. They had an 4 Way tag team elimination match. they all put on a really good show. After they'd finish, I chatted to
Slyk. he said he's going on a tour of UK on 7th March 2003 (what perfect timing I've got!). So if anyone fancies going to see my trainer in action, feel free.
Just click on this link! On the way home from wrestling, because my Mam and Dad had eaten while I was there, I picked up a MacDonalds. We saw the salesmen again and chatted with them. Then I emailed some people about places to stay and went to bed.
26/02/2003 For breakfast I had 2 doughnuts and a cup of cranberry juice (I'm to try cranberry and orange mixed together tommorow apparently!). then I went on the internet and emailed a few more people about rooms. We went to an outlet mall which was cool. I got some shorts made by Just4 which I'd never heard of, but they're nice. I got a chinese for lunch and headed back to the hotel. I had a swim and a bath (betcha wanted to know that!) and went to check out a room near
Harvard. It's on
Pemberton Street and I'd be sharing a house with 5 other guys. There's a 60 year old women who owns it and she stays there too. She's quite strict, but leniant at the same time. It took ages to find, and after 10 minutes of me saying to turn down Yerxa Road, my Dad had a fantastic idea of turning down Yerxa Road, and we found "The Yellow House" (?). The house looked fine, but we were early to meet the lady and went looking to find the nearest T-Stop. It was about a mile away and the area looked pretty good. There are some tennis and basketball courts and a big sports field next to the house, but they're all covered in snow at the moment. We went back to the house and met the lady, had a chat and a cup of tea, or should I say drank our tea while the lady chatted to us? So, that's now where I'm gonna live until May 21st, starting this Saturday. How exciting. On the way home, we stopped at the world's biggest restaurant,
The Hilltop Steak House, or so we were told by someone. It was very big, but it didn't advertise the fact, if it was true. I had a nice meal of steak, chips and coleslaw and a dessert called "The Avalanche". To be honest, it was so big I couldn't finish it. Blimey! It was lots of ice cream, oreo cookies and a really sugary cream with chocolate sauce over it. Very tasty indeed!
